Kitchen Installation Process

Clear the kitchen space completely and protect flooring with dust sheets

Measure wall heights, depths, and widths to ensure accurate unit positioning

Locate and mark wall studs — essential for secure cabinet mounting

Check that walls are level and plumb using a spirit level

Ensure electricity, plumbing, and ventilation are disconnected or isolated

Remove old units carefully, taking care with electrical connections

Lay out all components and verify against the delivery checklist

Assemble the first base unit on a flat surface before installation

Use a cordless drill for all screw fixings — pre-drill holes to prevent splitting

Attach the adjustable feet to the bottom of each unit

Connect units together using connector screws at the rear and sides

Ensure all joints are tight and square using a carpenter's square

Position the first unit against the wall and check it's level both horizontally and vertically

Shim under the feet as needed to achieve a perfect level — this is critical

Screw the unit to wall studs using appropriate anchors

Add subsequent units and connect them with connector screws

Check regularly with a spirit level as you progress

Maintain consistent heights across all base units before fitting worktops

Ensure all base units are perfectly level before worktop installation begins

If mitering worktops, cut angles carefully and seal all exposed edges

Apply silicone sealant along the top edge of cabinets before laying the worktop

Position worktop and secure using figure-eight fasteners (allows expansion/contraction)

Do not screw directly through the top of units — use mounting brackets underneath

Leave a 10mm expansion gap between the worktop and any wall

Allow doors and drawers to acclimatize in the kitchen for 24–48 hours before hanging

Assemble drawer boxes completely before fitting into their openings

Install door hinges and adjust for perfect alignment — use a spirit level

Fit drawer slides to both the drawer box and cabinet interior

Check door and drawer gaps are even all around (typically 2–3mm)

Fine-tune hinge and slide adjustments until movement is smooth

Measure the backsplash area carefully, accounting for worktop thickness

Install backsplash material (tile, splashback, or cladding) according to manufacturer instructions

Seal gaps between backsplash and worktop with quality silicone sealant

Apply matching trim or edge cappings where required

Install any additional shelving or open storage elements

Apply final sealants and finishes as per product specifications

Reconnect all plumbing connections and test for leaks

Reconnect electrical appliances and check all functions work correctly

Test all doors and drawers open and close smoothly without sticking

Inspect all screw fixings and tighten if needed

Clean all surfaces thoroughly before handover

Keep all documentation, guarantees, and care instructions for future reference
